Paramount Backlot e-session | Sandy + Navid

I had a job working a charity event at Paramount’s Backlot on New York Street. A fundraiser for the Concern Foundation. So before the event started, I decided to shoot a few quick engagement pictures of Sandy and Navid on the backlot. This location is off-limits to the public and this is why it was so appealing to me. I was looking for something different to do. We didn’t really have the place to ourselves as they were decorating the entire New York Street, but I managed to sneak in a few quick sexy shots before the event started .

What a weekend of great photoshoots! This awesome couple actually got married about 6 months ago and unfortunately it was pouring rain on their wedding day. So they called me up to take some new pictures all dressed up again in their wedding attire. All brides should do this! We had a perfect day and I had some new smuggers along for the ride which was fun too! Thanks guys for coming along. This is one of my favorite locations because it’s just so surreal looking. Urban Engagement Session at Union Station|Matt+ Nikki

What a fun urban e- session at Union Station last weekend. I invited a few fellow smuggers to join me in photographing Matt and Nikki for their engagement pictures. Matt and Nikki have that ‘chemistry’ that’s so fun to photograph. They had us all cracking up with their energy and inhibitions. We started off at Union Station downtown Los Angeles and then stopped by the Disney Concert Hall for a few more. Matt just so happens to be a killer D.J. and you can check out his website here. Nikki is a forensic psychologist and we won’t get into her stories, but let’s just say that ‘Silence of the Lambs’ is a boring day at work for her! We can’t wait for their wedding featuring a U2 tribute band! Thanks to Tom Galassi, Katrina Brown, Kerem Hanci and Phoebe Chason for coming along!

Malibu Creek Engagement Session| Scott + Daniela

I enjoyed a beautiful afternoon taking pictures at the Malibu Creek State Park with Scott and Daniela for their engagement pictures. There are many cool areas to explore and for nature pictures, and this is a great location! I put together a little slideshow here as well.

Getty Photoshoot | Rameena + Pawan

Rameena phoned me last week to take pictures of her and her husband Pawan of two years. They live in Vancouver and she was surprising him with an anniversary trip to LA and wanted some fun sexy pictures. We met at the Getty Museum where it was pretty overcast. So much so that you couldn’t see the city views! But I didn’t let the June gloom discourage me. When it’s cloudy I just like to warm it up! I had a hot couple with great chemistry and that’s all I needed! We walked around for an hour then headed back to their hotel at the Luxe on Sunset. A few more pictures there and I knew I had captured something special for them. I really enjoyed this one. Thanks guys and I hope to be visiting Vancouver soon.

Viceroy Engagement Pics with Ryan and Jill

I really had a great time last weekend with Ryan and Jill who decided on having their engagement pictures taken at The Viceroy Hotel in Santa Monica. These guys just had really great chemistry and they were so fun to photograph. Romantic, playful and totally sexy!

The Viceroy is a cool location to shoot at and yes, you need permission to take pictures there. We then headed over to to the beach to catch the sunset and I got to hear a great story of how Ryan proposed to Jill right there on the beach in Santa Monica.

Vasquez Engagement Session |Corrinne + Rudy

We just did a really cool engagement session with Corinne and Rudy and their two gorgeous Husky’s. We drove out to Vasquez Rocks which has long been a popular filming location for a lot of the old westerns. These guys had great chemistry and were a lot of fun to photograph. Their dogs were so excited to be out of the car and wanted to run around so badly!

A quick note to photographers..If you bring an assistant, you will need a permit. I brought my new assistant Dida with me to show her the ropes on how I photograph an engagement session and you would think I had committed a felony based on the ranger’s reaction to me not having a permit! Gotta love LA. I would think people who work in nature would be more kind and tree-hugger like. ; )

But it was worth getting yelled at because Dida got a few of my favorite pictures from the shoot..see below.

So much about taking a good picture is really about having a good eye and I love this picture that Dida captured above.

San Francisco Engagement Pictures |Tina and Gunter

I had a great time flying up to San Francisco to photograph Tina and Gunter’s engagement pictures. They picked me up from the airport and we drove all over the city stopping at some of the more picturesque spots around town. Market street, Grace Cathedral, and my favorite was at the Presidio. I had to pay homage to Hitchocock’s Vertigo and have Tina play the role of Kim Novak for a shot. Below is an example of what our guests books look like.
