Rameena phoned me last week to take pictures of her and her husband Pawan of two years. They live in Vancouver and she was surprising him with an anniversary trip to LA and wanted some fun sexy pictures. We met at the Getty where it was pretty overcast. So much so that you couldn’t see the city views! But I didn’t let the June gloom discourage me. When it’s cloudy I just like to warm it up! I had a hot couple with great chemistry and that’s all I needed! We walked around for an hour then headed back to their hotel at the Luxe on Sunset. A few more pictures there and I knew I had captured something special for them. I really enjoyed this one. Thanks guys and I hope to be visiting Vancouver soon.

Viceroy Engagement Pics with Ryan and Jill

I really had a great time last weekend with Ryan and Jill who decided on having their engagement pictures taken at The Viceroy Hotel in Santa Monica. These guys just had really great chemistry and they were so fun to photograph. Romantic, playful and totally sexy!

The Viceroy is a cool location to shoot at and yes, you need permission to take pictures there. We then headed over to to the beach to catch the sunset and I got to hear a great story of how Ryan proposed to Jill right there on the beach in Santa Monica.

The Great Outdoors Engagement Session|Corrinne + Rudy

We just did a really cool engagement session with Corinne and Rudy and their two gorgeous Husky’s. We drove out to Vasquez Rocks which has long been a popular filming location for a lot of the old westerns. These guys had great chemistry and were a lot of fun to photograph. Their dogs were so excited to be out of the car and wanted to run around so badly!

A quick note to photographers..If you bring an assistant, you will need a permit. I brought my new assistant Dida with me to show her the ropes on how I photograph an engagement session and you would think I had committed a felony based on the ranger’s reaction to me not having a permit! Gotta love LA. I would think people who work in nature would be more kind and tree-hugger like. ; )

But it was worth getting yelled at because Dida got a few of my favorite pictures from the shoot..see below.

San Francisco Engagement Pictures |Tina and Gunter

I had a great time flying up to San Francisco to photograph Tina and Gunter’s engagement pictures. They picked me up from the airport and we drove all over the city stopping at some of the more picturesque spots around town. Market street, Grace Cathedral, and my favorite was at the Presidio. I had to pay homage to Hitchocock’s Vertigo and have Tina play the role of Kim Novak for a shot. Below is an example of what our guests books look like.

Union Station Engagement Pictures|Amy and Daylen

Last week’s engagement session at Union Station in Los Angeles was so fun. I always like shooting inside Union Station because it looks and feels like a movie set. And as far as cool locations goes, it’s probably the cleanest and coolest spot in downtown LA!

I’ve been really lucky this year with having some pretty sexy couples to shoot, but I think Amy and Daylen may win the trophy for best make-out session! At one point in front of Disney Concert Hall, we did get asked to leave because I had them “workin’ it” a little too much I guess. These guys are having a destination wedding next year at the Azul Sensatori in Cancun, Mexico! I can’t wait for their wedding.

Chatsworth Engagement Pictures|Rick +Melika

One word for these guys..passion. Melika with her fire red hair and Rick with his cool demeanor make these two a really fun pair to photograph for their engagement pictures. Melika started the photoshoot off right and got in the mood by having a glass of wine to relax and have fun. I wish more couples would do this! We hiked through rattle snake country to find some interesting spots and it paid off. The light was beautiful, they were beautiful, and therefore I was taking beautiful pictures.

We ended the shoot with some fun portrait shots featuring Rick’s Harley and we had Melika play the role of the girl in the infamous Whitesnake video. But you won’t see those here. ; ).

Hollywood Blvd Engagement Pictures |Irene and Josh

Michael Jackson died today and it made today’s engagement photoshoot on Hollywood Blvd. really interesting. I met up with Irene and Josh who are getting married later this year at the beautiful Hilton Waikoloa in Hawaii. It was just a little surreal and bittersweet because of the tremendous outpouring of love for Michael Jackson. Walking up and down Hollywood Blvd, most shop owners posted pictures of Michael Jackson in their windows and played his music in their stores. Then at Highland and Hollywood where we shot most of the session, you had hundreds of people there for the premiere of Bruno and what a sight that was. Sasha Baron Cohen is just crazy. A picture is worth a thousand words right? Well here you go..talk amongst yourselves…

Irene and Josh didn’t seem to know what to make of all the craziness at first, but soon they found themselves making out (literally) amongst the crowd of locals and tourists and fit right in. I think Hawaii will be a little less drama and we’re looking forward to it!

Laguna Beach Engagement Pictures Matt + Alexandra

What a gorgeous day we had in Laguna Beach. I always like going down there. Alexandra and Matt are getting married later this year at the Ritz Carlton and I drove down to shoot some engagement pics at one of their favorite spots. These two have great chemistry and are very playful together. They’ve been dating since High School and you can just tell they are made for each other. Just look at the way they kept making out! ; )

The sunset was unreal and it was nice to just hang out and take some pictures.

Malibu Engagement Photography Pictures | Michelle & Tommy

Michelle and Tommy were a lot of fun. We photographed Michelle’s sister Melanie’s wedding last year. We took their pictures at Point Dume and they were up for anything…so I had them climb to the top of the cliff and jump off. Well not really, but I kept thinking that would make a great picture. So if anyone is into basejumping, give me a call.
