Dream Wedding location: Tuscany Italy!
Well we have had the amazing fortune to travel all over the world taking pictures. I have to say that shooting this wedding in Italy is an experience I will never forget on many levels. Sarah and Jeff decided to get married in the medieval hilltop town of Cortona in Tuscany Italy. You may know the town from the movie Under the Tuscan Sun.

The moment you step foot in the town you feel transported to a different time. It is a special place and one that you have to experience first hand to understand why. I arrived a day early to scope out the town and we all were just mesmerized by how unbelievably cool the town was. We were just so excited to be able to photograph a wedding there.
The mayor of Cortona performed the service for Sarah and Jeff inside the Cortona Wedding Hall in the center of the town square. How cool is that! Their family and friends stayed at the beautiful Il Melone just down the hill. This is where they got ready and where they held their reception which included one of the most amazing (5 course) meals I’ve ever had. The first course was a bowl of homemade linguine with a nice 2 lb. lobster laying on top of it. Again, this was just the first course… it got better from there believe it or not and Sarah has truly raised the bar for our “Vendor Meal” requirements!
The pictures below show just a few of our favorites from the day. There are hundreds. These are mostly samples of the portraits we took. We’ll include many more in the slideshow to follow soon.
As I look through thousands of pictures I took while I was there, I realize how special this wedding was. Not only a gorgeous location, but this was a very small and intimate wedding. There were just 9 guests there and even though we just spent the day with them, we felt really close and honored to be the ones to photograph their wedding. In all my years photographing weddings, I have never seen such heartfelt toasts from all who attended. Let’s just say there wasn’t a dry eye in the place (including ours).
Destination weddings are becoming more and more popular nowadays and what better place than Italy to tie the knot?If anyone out there is considering getting married in Italy, call us because we’d love to go back soon!
Folks, it just doesn’t get much more beautiful than this. What a backdrop! Complete with castle on top of the hill.
Dre took this shot of me photographing Sarah and Jeff. I love this shot.
This is the shot I was taking.
The Tuscan light is warm and beautiful.
Leaving Cortona’s Wedding Hall to be greeted, cheered and applauded by the town square filled with locals and tourists. This was such a great moment.
This picture above is probably my favorite shot of the day. I just love the way the light was shining down this alley.
This is the first time I have ever mixed B&W with Color in the same image. I think it’s cool (for this shot)
I love this candid moment of Jeff showing off his ring to the guys. Even grooms brag about their rings!
I’m not quite sure what I was going for here..putting Jeff up on a pedestal perhaps?I call this my Vanity Fair shot. I could see it in there!
Salute! Andrea and I wish you both the very best and thank you for this experience.
