Having an assistant/second shooter can be a life saver. In addition to having a second set of eyes to make sure everyone looks their best during the formals, they are also often times taking pictures from a completely different perspective. This gives our clients so many more choices when it comes to picking their favorites.
A lot of photographers strictly limit the use of an assistant to helping them and then perhaps during the reception they are able to shoot a little. I personally disagree with this method becasue you never know what you could be missing. Here is a perfect example of what I’m talking about. Above, is a nice shot of Ronald and Ava that I am shooting.
